If your child would like to further explore the digestive system, there is a Limitless Learning task set in Google Classroom, in which they are invited to make their own creative and scientific models.
A Super Start for our Year 6!, by Miss M Jones
Date: 16th Sep 2022 @ 9:45am
We have been blown away by the mature approach our amazing Year 6s have demonstrated during the first two weeks of a brand new school year!
In P.E., they have reignited their love of rugby by applying their prior knowledge of ball skills and movement. In music, we are fortunate to have the wonderful Mrs Pugh-Richards back with us to deliver expert violin lessons. We have also started our new history topic on Slavery by looking at intriguing artefacts.
Keep up the impeccable work, Year 6!
We hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
The Year 6 Team :)

We have been so impressed with the excellent resilience and positivity the year 4 children have demonstrated this week.
In science, they have taken a virtual trip around the human digestive system using VR headsets. In English they explored various items to get clues about their new book. In art, they have explored how watercolours work and creating their own colours. They have also been on their first trip to top site to use the computing suite and sports hall. What a busy week!
We hope you have a restful weekend,
The Year 4 Team

Community Garden August Workshop, by Mrs Cameron-Ivanov
Date: 5th Aug 2022 @ 1:57pm
We have had a lovely morning working in our Will Allen Community Garden. Thankfully, the weather brightened up and we were able to complete plenty of jobs, including weeding, checking for signs of pests, picking and harvesting our fruit and veg, and the best bit, getting to sample what we had grown.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch, where we sampled some homemade stewed rhubarb, apple conserve and mixed berry compote, as well as strawberries and raspberries.
Our most successful crops this year have been rhubarb, apples, lettuce, parsley and green beans. All the families who joined us were able to take home what we had grown, and we can't wait to see what tasty meals they make with them.

Year 6 at Condover Hall, by Mrs Horton
Date: 19th Jul 2022 @ 11:20am
Year 6 are having a great time at Condover Hall. It has been very hot so we have had to make some adaptions to the timetable - we have added in water fights and cooling off activities.
We arrived at lunchtime on Monday and had lunch under the shade of the trees. After lunch we made our way to our dorms and settled in. We had some time to cool off before we started our first activities. It was very hot but we stayed in the shade as much as possible and drank lots of lots of water (we also used our water bottles to cool our bodies!).
Monday night dinner was delicious - especially the cake! We had evening activities when it was a little cooler. Then it was time to settle for the night. This did take a little longer than usual as it was pretty hot in the rooms. Eventually everyone got some sleep and we were up early this morning to start the day - some people were up very early!!
We apologise that we have not been able to post pictures sooner. We can only get wifi in the main building and even then it can be a very weak signal. We will update as much as we can as we have taken hundreds of photos. We can assure you that the children are having lots of fun!
Summer Reading Challenge - Please sign up!, by Mrs Horton
Date: 15th Jul 2022 @ 2:21pm
Today we had a visit from Elaine Wilson who is a librarian at Wirral Libraries. She told the children all about the Summer Reading Challenge called 'Gadgeteers'. Our children all seemed really excited to have a go as we love books so much at St George's. It sounds like a fun thing to do over the summer holidays and you only need to read 6 books to get a medal. Mrs Horton is going to send an email out today with all of the details on but it is so easy to sign up - just call in to any library. Wallasey Village Library is only open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning but Wallasey Central (Earlston park) is open every day.
The best thing is that it is all FREE! So what are you waiting for. Sign up today!

Date: 15th Jul 2022 @ 10:01am
Stollies Cafe & Deli in Wallasey Village held our first ever Foundation 2 Pop Up Art Exhibition this week.
This was a wonderful opportunity for parents to see the beautiful art work that their child has created during their time in Foundation 2.
Throughout the year, the children have taken part in three Artist studies, where they have looked at and explored in depth the work of Picasso, Acrimboldo and Goldsworthy.
The children have used their developing knowledge of the Artists and have created their own inspirational pieces of art.
