The governing body and leadership team of St Georges are seeking a committed professional to join our valued Teaching Assistant team. 

The candidate will be an excellent practitioner, with a proven record in helping to promote excellent learning and outcomes for children.  The majority of your work will be class based supporting children. In addition, some of your role will be made up of lunchtime provision support, our extra-curricular offer and pastoral work.

The successful applicant must have the following qualities:

  • A deep understanding of and passion for high quality education.
  • A commitment to inclusion and SEND support that enables children to learn well and thrive as learners.
  • Knowledge of how to support children with SEND
  • A commitment to professional learning and development (All TAs have at least 50 hours of CPD a year as part of their directed time).
  • Experience of supporting high quality classroom teaching including phonics and mastery-based mathematics.

Understanding of how to promote high quality oracy and language.

  • Ability to develop good relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
  • Understanding of how to apply positive behaviour management approaches.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to show initiative and apply common sense.
  • Experience of supporting assessment and planning for next steps in a child’s learning.
