Date: 8th Dec 2021 @ 1:18pm

Congratulations to one of our lovely pupils, Charlottte in year 4, who has raised £150 for the homeless charity, Crisis.
Charlotte wanted to help the homeless comunity as she said 'it's not right that some people don't have a home, especially at Christmas.'
She baked, sold and delivered cupcakes (with a little support in the decorating department from her brother Lewis, in year 6) and presented the money to the charity at their Christmas Carol Concert on Monday.
Crisis have publicly thanked her and said she is setting a great example.

Tiny Forest - Eco Warriors, by Miss Berry

Date: 17th Nov 2021 @ 3:00pm

Today, some of our Eco Warriors got the opportunity to work as part of a country wide scheme to create green spaces within urban areas.

The scheme is run by Earth Watch Europe, and the Delph site in Liscard is one of many sites across the UK being developed into a tiny forest.

A tiny forest is a dense fast-growing native woodland of approximately 600 trees in a tennis court sized area.

Tiny forests bring all the benefits of a normal forest – reconnecting people with nature, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change, as well as providing nature-rich habitat patches to support urban wildlife – right into the heart of our cities and urban spaces.

We had great fun supporting the biologists and helping to plant trees. We can't wait to see how much they have grown by summer and discover what wildlife they will support.

  • friendly to the environment - saves paper

How it works:

  • you’ll receive an email or text from ourselves with a link to the e-Consent form
  • the form is simple and easy to complete
  • once you’ve completed the e-Consent form, click ‘submit’
  • you’ll receive an email to confirm the form has been received securely
  • the Trust’s Immunisation Team will receive your child’s form via a secure portal
  • if you’ve consented, your child will have their vaccine here in school

Storytelling success for Matlida, by Mrs Walters

Date: 9th Nov 2021 @ 1:26pm

Well done to one of our year 3 pupils who took part in an exciting online project and ended up reading out her own work at a Storytelling Showcase!

Matilda attended a 90 minute Zoom session every week as part of a Wirral Libraries creative writing project for children aged 7 to 11.

The theme was all about climate change and children were invited to join the Zoom based courses with author Charlie Lea, who guided them on how to write powerful and persuasive stories of their own.

Matlida was then invited to attend a Climate Champions Storytelling Showcase at the Liverpool Central Library where she read out her own story.

We are all so proud of Matilda who did an amazing job!

Year 6 African Drumming Workshop, by Miss M Jones

Date: 18th Oct 2021 @ 11:31am

Year six had the absolute pleasure of attending a special drumming workshop on Monday! We learned about lots of different percussion instruments and their West African heritage. Then, we had a go at some call and response drumming: our leader shouted, "I like chips for tea!" and we had to shout back, "He likes chips for tea!" all whilst drumming to each word! After a few practice rounds of responding to different calls, we then performed in classes to the rest of Year 6 what we had learned. What a fantastic experience!

Ministers resilience assembly, by Miss Hughes

Date: 17th Sep 2021 @ 2:37pm

What a delight it was to have our Year 3 and Year 4 children together again for our first ministers assembly back in our new classes. We were so lucky to have one of our ministers Ian Henderson speak to us about resilience and the importance how we respond when something bad or unexpected happens.

It has really given us a boost to start the year with a positive attitude and approach each challenge with a smile of determination.
