6D’s Silent Debate, by Miss Newton

Date: 7th Feb 2020 @ 2:24pm

This afternoon we have had a silent debate. We started off by looking at four different statements about China - our current Geography unit. We thought really carefully about whether we agreed or disagreed with the statements, without actually sharing our opinion with anyone else. Then we had to walk around the room - in silence - and write down why we agreed or disagreed with the statements, but this time on large paper. We were really encouraged to challenge each other’s thinking.

We were fortunate enough to visit St Francis school in Birkirkara, where we observed lessons and visited all of the classes throughout the school. All staff and children made us feel extremely welcome and gave us a real insight into the Maltese education system. During our visit, we were also able to experience the wonderful history and culture of Malta. We are looking forward to hosting our European colleagues at St George’s in the near future.’
