Year 5 visit The Lady Lever Gallery, by Mrs Parker

Date: 13th Dec 2019 @ 11:34am

On Wednesday and Thursday this week, the Year 5 children visited The Lady Lever Gallery in Port-Sunlight as part of their Design Technology work, “The Great Soap Debate.” Children made their own soaps and learned about how Lord Lever branded and marketed soap. They also spent half a day looking around the gallery, gathering inspiration from the designs and motifs on furniture and three-dimensional objects in the gallery. The children learned that it is really important to look below and above eye level to really see detail in design. They now have lots of ideas in their sketch books to use on their recyclable soap packaging back in school.

Several members of the public commented on how well the children were working and how respectful and quiet they were in the gallery. Well done Year 5, it was a pleasure to take you out.

The Year 5 team.
