Year 4 - Learning all about Buddhism ??

We learn about lots of different religions and beliefs in our RE lessons at St George's. This half term, Year 4 are learning about the religion Buddhism. 

Today, Year 4 were extremely grateful to be visited by Kadam Sue and Neil  from Kailash Buddhist Centre. We learnt about what it means to be a Buddhist and the way in which Buddhists live today. 

Kadam Sue brought some items from a traditional Buddhist shrine and showed us the eight different offerings to Buddha. We got to see offering bowls, flowers, statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, incense and lights.

Neil told us the story of Buddha and we all practised a meditation together. 

We can't wait to learn more about Buddhism this half term.
