Y5/6 attend Wallasey Schools Poetry Slam

Some of our Year 5 and 6 pupils had a fantastic time attending the Wallasey Poetry Slam, where they were inspired by powerful performances from young poets from a range of schools across the local area.

A highlight of the event was meeting and listening to well-known local poet Joseph Roberts, who is well known for his work with Liverpool FC, Chester Zoo, Nike, Merseyside Police amongst many others. His inspiring words   and passion for poetry encouraged our children to explore the power of words, creativity, and self-expression. They were able to perform their own poems, and a poem written by Joseph, where they were given hints and tips on performance skills.

The experience was both inspiring and enjoyable, leaving our pupils full of ideas and enthusiasm for writing their own poetry. We are incredibly proud of how amazingly they represented our school and look forward to seeing their creativity continue to flourish.
