If you have a query, please email schooloffice@stgeorges.wirral.sch.uk and the Y5 team shall endeavour to reply as soon as they can. The Y5 team hosted a well-attended Zoom meeting for families regarding the Y4 to Y5 transition in July '25. This can be viewed by downloading the PDF from the bottom of this page.

Our Year 5 teaching staff are dedicated to fostering a love of learning and helping every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With their passion for teaching and a creative approach to the curriculum, they ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of every pupil.
The team works collaboratively to provide a stimulating environment where children are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and build confidence in their abilities. Beyond the classroom, they support a range of extracurricular activities and aim to nurture well-rounded, curious learners ready to take on new challenges. PE Kit On allocated PE days, children are expected to come to school wearing their full PE kit. Our motto — Blue is the colour — is a reminder that PE kit is part of our school identity.
Wearing the correct kit not only shows team spirit but ensures children are dressed appropriately and safely for physical activity.
Please support us by making sure your child wears the correct school PE kit on their PE day, so they’re ready to move, play, and participate with pride. |

Be Ready, Set and Organised We encourage families to equip children with a simple pencil case containing the basics they’ll need for learning each day. Whilst no child will ever be left without the tools they need, having their own stationery helps children feel prepared and supports them in developing independence and responsibility. Thank you for helping us give every child the best start to each lesson!
Suggested items for a pencil case: 2 pencils, an eraser, a sharpener, a ruler (30cm, if possible), 2 blue handwriting pens, a green biro, colouring pencils, a glue stick and a small pair of safety scissors.
