Science Week Commences...

Children of 6E ventured to Lower Site to seek help for their Science Week activity - they were looking to collect a data sample to figure out whether boys and girls of the same age have a larger handspan. For this they had to accumulate a large enough sample of data - over 100 handspans from EYFS children should suffice.

Lucas (6E) stated: 'It was great working with the younger children. They listened beautifully and helped us with our research.'

Throughout this week, 6E will be analysing the sample by calculating the average-sized handspan for an F2 boy and girl. Even though there is plenty of mathematics involved, the children cannot wait to feed back to the children in F2.

Heidi (6E) said, 'They were asking all sorts of great questions about our work. They were really trying to justify their opinions.'

It was lovely for both sets of children to come together - the eldest and some of the youngest children in the school.

'We cannot wait to come again. It was really interesting and fun to work with F2. They learned from us and we learned from them,' said Gracie (6E).
