St. George's Dragon Club refers to our Breakfast, Afterschool, and Holiday Club care facilities, which are open exclusively to St. George's pupils.
Dragon Club operates as a self-funding facility, with proceeds benefiting the school and, ultimately, the children.
We employ a manager, assistant managers, along with Playcare Workers, to ensure the provision of high-quality care for the children. Daily activities are planned for each setting and may include arts and crafts, technology, construction, music, baking, gardening, and outdoor play. Children can also choose to complete homework or read for 10 minutes, and our staff will sign any reading logs for Year 1-6.
*We can only accept children who are toilet trained - we do not have changing facilities*
We have named our early years provision for under 5's 'Dragon Club's Brady Bunch' in memory of Mrs Sue Taylor who we unexpectedly lost following a short battle with Cancer in 2022. Sue was a much loved Playworker at St George's who is remembered for her positivity with colleagues and her warm, gentle nature with the children in Dragon Club. Brady was the name of Mrs Taylor's beloved dog.
Price changes for bookings for and from September 2025
We need to implement a slight increase in the costs of breakfast and the after-school club to address the rising expenses of produce. We have worked hard to keep these adjustments minimal.
- Breakfast Club: Currently £5, will increase to £5.15 per session.
- Afterschool Club: Currently £8.75, will increase to £9 per session.
Additionally, we will be raising our late fee, which is a one-time charge of £5 per child. The new structure will be as follows:
- First Charge: £5 per child
- 15 minutes after close: £10 per child
- 30 minutes after close: £20 per child
These changes are necessary to cover staff overtime and the costs of keeping the premises open.
Please note that we will introduce a £2 administrative fee for any bookings we need to make on your behalf. This will be applied at the manager's discretion, particularly in cases of repeated booking failures. This measure is implemented because our booking system is online, giving you the ability to manage your own bookings.
You must register to our online booking system iPAL, before you can make bookings and your children can attend.
All the information is on our bookings page
Please note that Dragon Club is part of the school and follows all school policiesincluding behaviour and safeguarding.
Mr Johnson-Smith is the Senior Safeguarding Lead.
This area will show AutoList Documents from the Parent Website.
