Year 3 Visit Liverpool World Museum and Central Library

Year 3 had a fantastic day on their recent visit to Liverpool World Museum and Central Library.

At the museum, the children explored the fascinating Egyptian exhibition, which links directly to our current History unit on Ancient Civilisations. This visit provided a wonderful introduction ahead of our more in-depth study of Ancient Egypt next half term. The artefacts on display truly wowed the children – from beautifully preserved objects to detailed hieroglyphics and ancient tools. The museum staff were extremely complimentary about the children’s knowledge and enthusiasm, which made us very proud.

One of the highlights of the day was an interactive workshop with a museum curator, who taught the children all about the mummification process. The session was exciting, engaging and brought history to life. The children particularly enjoyed learning about the different stages of mummification and the importance of preserving the body in Ancient Egyptian beliefs.

Year 3 also visited Liverpool Central Library. The children were very impressed by the beautiful building and the vast volume of books available, especially in the children’s library section. It was wonderful to see their excitement about reading and exploring new texts.

Overall, it was an enriching and memorable day that has sparked even greater curiosity about Ancient Egypt. Well done, Year 3, for representing our school so brilliantly!
