World Book Day
World Book Day at St George's - Thursday 2nd March 2023
This year we are going to spend the day talking about books. The theme of World Book Day is 'We Are Readers'. We are going to talk about all the books that we love to read.
To join in the 'Guess the Book' challenge all you have to do is:
- Choose a book that you like to read.
- Think about some clues that you could use to help people to guess what your book is (you can draw your clues or bring in real props).
- Wrap your book up so no-one can see what it is (try not to tell your friends!)
- Bring you book and your clues into school on Thursday 2nd March.
- In the class you will need to answer questions from your classmates to see if they can guess your book.
- Reveal the book and tell your classmates all about it.

We will celebrate World Book Day at home and in school. We have author visits, competitions and lots of book related activities to take place throughout the week.
Just for fun - Everyday we will reveal some more of our 'Masked Readers'. See if you can guess who they are. We will reveal who is behind each mask on Friday.

Masked Reader Oracy Challenge
Do you think you could do a better job? Do you fancy making your own video? Will your class mates guess who you are? Have a go and send your video to your teacher via SeeSaw and Google Classroom. See attached flyer at the bottom of this page or on your home learning platform.
It has been great to see our children sending videos of their own versions of this challenge to their teachers through SeeSaw and Google Classroom - these will be shared in their classes.
