Author visit - Peet Ellison
Year Three had a truly exciting and inspiring visit from author and illustrator Peet Ellison, who came to share his wonderful Timbertwig book series with us.
During his visit, Peet showed the children his original paintings, created many years ago, and spoke about how his ideas came to life. He explained how he drew inspiration from the world around him – from using his family’s names for characters to even spotting a large piece of wood that sparked the idea for one of his creations. The children were fascinated to see how imagination and everyday experiences can turn into stories.
The visit left the children feeling incredibly inspired and enthusiastic. They had the opportunity to create their own imaginative character that might burst into the classroom and cause chaos! They also began developing their own stories based on these characters, and we are very much looking forward to sharing some of their fantastic ideas with Peet himself.
We are also very grateful to Peet for his generosity. He has kindly offered to donate money from every book sale to our school’s PTA. If you are able to support, we would really appreciate you purchasing a copy of the book, details of which have been sent via email.
It was especially lovely to welcome Peet into our school community, as he is also a grandparent to some of our children in Years Three and Four. Thank you, Peet, for visiting us and for inspiring our children to read, create, and tell their own stories.
