British Science Week - Year 3

Year 3 had a fantastic time celebrating British Science Week! Throughout the week, we embraced our curiosity, asked lots of questions, and enjoyed finding out more about the world around us.

One of the highlights of the week was taking part in a live science lesson. During the session, we learned all about the world, as well as exploring light and shadows. The lesson was very engaging and we all really enjoyed discovering how light helps us see and how shadows are created.

We also carried out a hands-on science activity where we carefully dissected a flower to explore its different parts. After learning about how plants reproduce, we went outside and took part in a fun role-play activity. Acting as bees, we moved between flowers to pollinate them, helping us understand how pollen is transferred in nature.

Another exciting part of the week was welcoming a STEM visitor into school. She spoke to us about her role in Psychology and explained how asking questions and being curious helps scientists learn more about how people think and behave.
