Inspiring Visit from IT Professional Laura Black
Children in years 5 and 6 delighted to welcome one of our own parents, Laura Black, who came in to talk to pupils about her remarkable career in Information Technology.
Laura works for Essity, a global hygiene and health company, and her career has taken her far beyond the classroom — living and working across many different countries, picking up languages along the way and experiencing life in a range of cultures first-hand.
Her visit gave pupils a real insight into just how varied and exciting a career in IT can be, and how skills like communication, adaptability, and curiosity can take you all over the world. Children had the chance to ask Laura about her experiences and were inspired to hear how her career has combined technology with travel and languages in such an unexpected way.
A huge thank you to Laura for taking the time to come in and share her story with us. Visits like this remind our pupils that the world is full of exciting possibilities!
