Year 6 Evacuation Day 2025

Year 6 boarded the train from Wallasey to Chirk this morning to start their journey as WW2 evacuees. Throughout the day, they went on a nature walk in the countryside, visited Claremount Church (and saw their poppy artwork on display!) and have learnt some Welsh. There was also a boost to morale with some singing of 'Quartermaster's Store'.

We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to all of the children for participating so willingly in the day, to those who dressed up to play a role and especially to those who brought in sentimental items, such as badges, personal letters, photographs and Blitz diary entries.

Thank you also to our friends at Claremount Church, who volunteered their time and stories to bring Year 6's history topic to life.
