Friday 7 November 2025 Year three computing Year three had a visit from our technician in school this week to support us with our computing curriculum. He talked to us about his job and what he does on a daily basis, told us about different careers in the computing world and also helped us to understand the network we use/have in school. It was really helpful to have Jay in classes this week!

Friday 7 November 2025 Y6 Signed Book Winners Three lucky children in 6A won books signed by recently visiting authors: Dermot O'Leary and Lauren St. John. Winners were chosen by raffle ticket for achieving 100% on Accelerated Reader quizzes. Well done!

Thursday 6 November 2025 Playleader Success- 60 Second Challenges Our Lower Site Playleaders have been leading the 60 Second Challenges, giving children the chance to take part in fun fitness activities and beat their personal bests across a range of challenges. Pupils can achieve Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards while staying active and challenging themselves.

Wednesday 5 November 2025 Foundation 2 Art Gallery Success Well done to all of our Foundation 2 children on holding their first art gallery of the year at Wallasey Village Library. It was a great success with many families visiting to see the children's Picasso-inspired artwork.

Monday 29 September 2025 2025 Wheelie Breakfast Last week saw the return of the Wheelie Breakfasts! Each year, our wonderful eco team run Wheelie Breakfasts to promote active travel. A huge well done to everyone who blinged their bike, scooter, skateboard and even shoes! St. George's prides itself on encouraging walking, cycling, scooting and parking & striding to school as well as educating pupils on how to do so as safely as possible. Our first 100 active travellers were rewarded with a free breakfast, and children were able to purchase reflective items for £1.

Friday 26 September 2025 Y5 visit the World Museum and Planetarium This week, Year 5 children had a wonderful time visiting the World Museum and the Planetarium linking to our current Science topic, all about Space. Students were able to explore the wonders of space with a fascinating live show in the Planetarium, where they discovered more about stars, planets, the first moon landing, and the solar system like never before. They also had the opportunity to explore other exhibits throughout the museum linking to prior knowledge in other subjects including History, Science and Art.

Wednesday 24 September 2025 Martyn Harvey Author Visit Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful day with Martyn Harvey, a local author. Martyn is a new author and illustrator of children's books, including The Boy with the Saucepan Hat and Squiggly Pete the Pirate. Martyn is based in Neston, Cheshire, and his books feature very funny stories illustrated in a bright, quirky contemporary style using ink and watercolour. His most recent book 'Squiggly Pete in the Curse of the Monster Zombie Mushy Peas' is set in Parkgate and features local landmarks.

Monday 7 July 2025 Y5 visit the world’s first Poetry Expo in Liverpool Some Y5 children were selected to visit and take part in the world's very first Poetry Expo in Liverpool organised by famous local poet Joseph Roberts. Children visited stations led by many organisations from across Merseyside including; Merseyside Police, Merseyrail, Everton FC and many more.

Tuesday 1 July 2025 Year 6 Sports Day Year 6 had a fantastic time at their very last sports day at St George's. Every child showed resilience, determination and skill as they took on relay races, hula hoop races, javelin throwing and much more.Huge congratulations to all classes for completing the event but a special congratulations goes to 6C who were crowned the winners.

Friday 20 June 2025 A Fantastic Trip to Poland with Culture Club This week we learnt all about Poland's culture. We learnt the language, created some art and tried some of their delicious traditional food! We were so impressed with the children's knowledge and confidence in sharing their language and songs!
