Year 3 science trip to Ness Gardens (3A, 3B & 3E)

Today, some of the children from year three went on a trip to Ness Gardens. They explored the topic of plants and pollinators with the education department running a session for us around the gardens. In this session, the children explored the life cycle of plants and the process that seed dispersal and pollination has within this. They saw lots of examples of seeds and different plants around the gardens and learnt about the different types of pollinating animals. They also identified the different parts of plants, pulling a fuschia apart to identify these parts. We also explored the gardens further by following the rock trail and going on a rock hunt, to embed our learning of rocks and soils from our previous science unit. The children had a great day at Ness Gardens seeing lots of plants, animals, ponds, the view of North Wales and even the Halloween trail.
