We have just enjoyed two days of very special learning in every classroom up and down the corridors, and across both sites at St George's.
All of our lessons in every year group focused on a very beautiful book: Orion and the Dark.
Our children responded brilliantly, really enjoyed this experience and have produced some high quality outcomes. We are very proud of you, well done.

Mermaid Trial - New Brighton, by Cassidy
Date: 13th Mar 2017 @ 3:15pm
In an open competition, schools and arts-based groups from across Wirral were invited to submit their ideas for decorating six identical mermaid sculptures, which will be installed this May in New Brighton as part of a colourful new tourist trail.
The results are in, and St George's Primary School has submitted a winning design!
A group of children will be selected to turn the design on paper into a reality. We are over the moon to have been selected. Our pupils will be thrilled and proud to create artwork for the enjoyment of our local community. Our mermaid will take people on a journey back in time to a dark yet glowing evening at New Brighton fairground
The Trail will be placed at strategic locations in New Brighton, inspired by and celebrating the resort’s history, heritage, and its links with the mythical ‘Black Rock Mermaid’, who was said to have appeared to a local sailor in New Brighton in the 18th century.
If you would like more information about the project, please read the online press release: http://wirralview.com/news/mermaid-trail-designers-announced-designs-remain-under-wraps
E-safety Information Evening - Monday 13th February 2017 at 5pm, by Cassidy
Date: 13th Mar 2017 @ 3:14pm
We have been made aware of the app Music.ly, a popular app used by children to create videos and chat with others – including strangers. Over the past 6 months, the High Tech Crime Unit of Merseyside Police has seen an increase in complaints with regards to strangers pretending to be much younger than they are and making contact with children.
Please continue to be vigilant when your children are using phones and other technology. It is not the Apps themselves which cause concern, it is the abuse which can occur when certain users use these products to target vulnerable children.
As a school, we are aware of the possible dangers that come with using Social Media and the Internet, as such, we are proactive in taking every precaution to ensure that our school community remains safe when online. Please find below popular apps used by children and their minimum age:

Congratulations to our wonderful children in Year 1 and 2, who have won a "Christmas Song" competition on Wirral Radio.
The children's song (written and composed by Year 1 teacher Miss Markham) beat all competition to become the most voted for song on Wirral Radio. Thank you to everyone who voted. The children were so excited to know they had won.
Our children were so lucky to be able to visit a recording studio earlier this week to record the track. There will be a CD for sale - more news on this coming soon.
They will also be performing at the Wirral Christmas show on Wednesday 21st December. More information and the children's song can be found here http://www.wirralradio.co.uk/song-for-christmas-2016
