Mini Police launch, by Mrs Walters

Date: 27th Sep 2017 @ 4:02pm

Our newly elected Mini Police from years 5 and 6 had the pleasure of attending the launch event at the Emergency Services Training Centre in Birkenhead along with five other schools.

The children met the High Sheriff and the Assistant Chief Constable Julie Cooke along with other senior members of the police.

The children were lucky to see the National Police Air Service arrive in a helicopter and were able to see the police dog section and mounted police with their horses Boris and Harriet.

They also had a talk from the armed response team and were able to sit in their vehicles and all the children sat on a police motorbike.

This is the start of their journey as Mini Police and they will be attending more events in the future.

Mini Police @ St George's, by Cassidy

Date: 12th Sep 2017 @ 12:41pm

We were delightd to start our Mini Police initiative at St George's today.  Sergeant Burke and his colleague Jill from Merseyside Police held a special assembly to launch our campaign.

20 children in years 5 and 6 have been invited to apply for  a place in our mini police squad who will work with Merseyside police to promote excellent behaviour and an understanding of how the police make our community safe.  The mini police squad will lead assemblies, help with community projects and even take part in school trips to experience how the police work.

Mrs Skarratts-Jackson has asked the children interested in joining the mini police to complete an application form.

We look forward to revealing our first cadets in October.
